The Journey Counseling Center is a Trauma Informed program. We approach assessment and treatment from a lens of "what has happened to you" and "what are your life experiences" and "how is that now manifesting in symptoms" instead of from a medical model of "what's wrong with you."
The Journey Counseling Center has therapists who have trained with leading trauma experts like, Dr. Bruce Perry, Dr. Bessel Van der Kolk, and Gabriella Grant, to name a few. We have multiple therapists trained and/or certified in leading trauma treatment models such as EMDR, Neurofeedback, and TF-CBT as well as therapists who have completed the Utah Trauma Academy.
The Journey Counseling Center is a Department of Human Services licensed provider for Domestic Violence assessment and treatment in the State of Utah as is each individual therapist.
